The Parent Trap. B

You wouldn't expect a remake of a classic Disney movie to be better than the original, but in this case, 'The Parent Trap,' is. Lindsay Lohan (before she lost it) plays Annie Parker and Hallie James, two twins who meet at summer camp and discover that they're related. Their parents Nick (Dennis Quaid) and Elizabeth (Natasha Richardson) had divorced years before with each one getting one of the twins. So they come up with the brilliant plan to switch places so Annie can meet her mother and Hallie can meet her father. The plan works until someone discovers the secret and Nick and Elizabeth must meet to exchange the children. What I didn't like about the original was the way the two parents treated each other. Here their attitudes are totally different, more surprised than angry. The movie gets a bit sentimental and it might be a little long, but for the most part this is a solid family film.
