The Princess Bride. B+

It's hard to say exactly why 'The Princess Bride' is such a special movie. It is very romantic and filled with sword dual, treacherous, giant rats, quick sand, and a prince and a warrior who are fighting for the same girl. I suppose the good description of it would be: 'The Princess Bride' is the perfect fairy tale. It is based off of the novel from William Goldman and directed by Rob Reiner, who you might remember from the popular television series-I forget the title. The film, as predictable as it is, is filled with endless invention and wonder. There is a set of movies that just about everyone in the world has seen and this must be one of them. With all of the romance and action there is also plenty of solid humor and the characters are many and far from boring. Another thing I'd like to mention is the theme music from Alex de Grassi. It has a beautiful melody, and if you watch the credits you'll hear the lyrics to the song as well. In all this the essence of movie magic. It is the epitome of the the perfect Hollywood (I hate to use this word) swashbuckler.
