Don't Bother to Knock. C
Don't Bother to Knock is not a very good movie. The reasons it's ever mentioned are obvious: it began the career Anne Bancroft and it stars Marilyn Monroe in her first really daring role. In the movie she plays a disturbed young woman who babysits a young girl in a hotel room. The movie is a little creepy, but for the most part it doesn't go anywhere. It's a sluggish film with few surprises and an ending that is actually pretty corny. And really this idea of a crazy woman is nothing new. We learn she tried to commit suicide by slicing her wrists and that she has recently left an institution. Spending time with her in a small little hotel room isn't very fun or exciting.
