Janus films apparently is releasing Sorrentino's The Great Beauty in New York in mid-november, and other cities soon after. The U.S. trailer was just released, and after seeing it my anticipation for the film has only increased. It's one of those great trailers that sells not so much a story but a collection of images--frames you simply can't wait to see play out in full.
In other news, Criterion recently released their January lineup, and I was thrilled to see Michael Mann's debut masterpiece, Thief, included in it. Also, Rififi will be hitting blu-ray that same month. I feel a little spoiled.
